Hi -- I tried searching the forums but didn't see this question.

Is it possible to add fields to the customer registration form? If this is not built-in, would this be possible via a custom plugin/widget?

Thanks.

You can enable/disable some built-in form fields (admin area > configuration > settings > customer settings)

Yes, I saw that. But is it possible to add your own (custom) profile fields?

Thanks.

Hi,

what do you mean by 'editable dorpdown for year dropdown'? It's editable by default. Please clarify.

Yes this can be done by adding new fields in Custom customer attributes in Customer Setting page.

Just to follow up on this thread, is there a way to show hide attribute fields from the Register form? So for example you can create custom fields attached to users but not show them the control when they are registering. For example Preferred Distributor or a VIP tick box ?

Is there a way to easily hide these from the user?

Hi,

It can be done but not without some simple customization.

This option is not available out of the box. It requires customization. But the confirmation assures the user he is entering the desired password.
