Hi,
Just upgraded to v2.4 and I noticed a number of configuration tables have duplicate rows including Countries, Languages and Currencies, weights, etc. Is there a way to fix this up as I'm not sure now which is the correct selection in some cases.
Cheers,
Paul

The easiest and the most safe way is restoring a backup. Do you have it?

Hi,
I also have this problem, with many duplicated records throughout the admin page, including customer roles and the like.
This caused the additional problem of preventing me from uploading images as only one of the administrator boxes was ticked against my user profile, I have since ticked all copies of the box and I can now upload images again.
Any assistance in removing all of these duplicates would be very much appreciated,

Unfortunately my latest db backup was run after the duplicate records were created, but before I'd noticed, therefore my backup also has the duplicates. not good.

Hi,
I do have a backup, shame on anyone who doesn't. I'll try again tonight, I think I know what happened, the install screen came up and I started going through that again which probably added the duplicate rows since the upgrade script doesn't do it. Perhaps a suggestion for people who upgrade is to leave the original database intact, and upgrade a new database that has been restored from the original.
Cheers,
Paul

I've resolved this issue now, but only by reinstalling NOPCommerce from fresh and having it create a brand new database. Then pulling in my theme that I'd created, and re-loading all of the data from my old database.
This wasn't quite as scary as it sounds as I'm still in the development stage of our webshop on the local machine.

Has anything been documented on why this is happening? I have had this happen to me three times in a row trying to test the upgrade. The only way to finish this upgrade is to manually remove the duplicated rows. (... and I followed the instructions in the Readme.txt document exactly.)

As I noted in my earlier post, I believe the issue was in that I didn't delete the previous version prior to copying the new files in. Once this was done, I ran the upgrade script on the database, copied the .txt files back in and ran the app. One thing to note is that if you get the install screen and start an install\upgrade against your database the additional rows will be added to the database, whereas once I ran per procedure above, the app just started with the new version.
The other thing to note is NEVER make schema changes to a database unless you have a backup, that way you will not have an issue if it goes pear shaped.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi
I upgraded a site from 1.8 through each version to 2.5 last month and I have duplicate records in the database. I used the rereleased version that had meant to have fixed this and as I didn't notice for a while so now i cannot restore. Can some one tell me how I can delete the duplicate customer records from the database? I am very new to SQL so am not sure how all the tables hang together. All my duplicate records were created on the 01/04/12 if it helps.
Thanks
Dan
