I've seen many requests for such migration software. Since my current webshops are running on Prestashop 1.5.6 and I am moving them to NopCommerce as well as the lack of such migration software made me start up a new project for the smooth migration of PS 1.5.6+ to NC3.40

The migration software uses the PS API but since that API needs an https connection I have adjusted the PS php API software a teeny bit to easy the migration.

Off course the PS Theme will not be migrated, only your precious data.

My guess is the migration application will be ready by mid august.

Everybody who is interested, follow this thread.

Step 1 is complete: import of Manufacturers works like a charm

See link for screenshot.

functionality:
-add, update, delete manufactures in NopCommerce
-Set default NopCommerce values that are either not provided by de PrestaAPI or not supported by Prestashop
-Save, cancel transaction
-migrates meta for all linked languages
-migrates pictures
-sets stores
-sets ACL
-sets template
-set default description/name

Upcoming: Import of Suppliers

Platform: Win 8.1/.Net 4.5/Entity framework 6.0.0

Steps 2 and 3: Suppliers and Tags are now completed

Step 4:

migrating Categories allows for your Prestashop categories to be dragged anywhere from within the Ps tree anywhere into the NopCommerce tree.

This way you can reconstruct your NC structure.

Migration of categories is complete.

Migrate and restructure your new category tree by simply drag and drop Prestashop categories into your NopCommerce tree.

See image for details

-set ACl
-Set stores
-apply discounts (discount contents can not be migrated from prestashop and need to be available on migration)
-supply default language for name/description/meta..
-assign template

Hi Stefan,

How is it going with the migration software? Have you finished it?

Hi Andrei

Not yet, I had to move to another project first that would implement automatic publication of products into our new NopC system.  That cascaded into the redesign of a webservice and eventually an App.

I also moved the PDF report classes to a pdf plugin thereby eliminating the need to change the Nop core engine.

Next week I will continue on the migration of products, which is in fact the final part of the application. Then it's on to testing and checking.

Update on the migration tool. I am currently testing the final migration step which is the migration of products.

I expect the migration tool to be completed by the end of august. It will then support the following items:

manufacturers
tags
vendors
taxes
inventory and stock
roles
stores
various mappings
various default settings (not supported by prestashop)
categories (including reordering of the tree structure)
products
images

what is not supported?
1. Grouped products (products consisting of other products)
2. Giftcards
3. Requiring other products (product dependencies)
4. Virtual products (products that are services or download-files)
5. Product user agreements (associated with virtual products)
6. Recurring products (like subscriptions)
7. Product discounts and tier prices
8. downloadable files that support fysical products (like manuals for a product)

The migration software is now almost completed except for the configuration screen which needs some adjustments. I will set up a  Nop site later this week to offer the software as a free download.
