We have experience integrating nopCommerce 2.x and 3.x projects with MYOB Retail Manager and LS Retail/MS Dynamics Navision. If that's something you are considering we have POS experience and clients in those markets.

Anyone remember the Metro Template? Well after I released it on here I received quite a few interesting enquiries, however I had to put the entire project on hold until now.. Now the old Metro Ecommerce has gone(well it's free now!)..

I started from scratch making MegaMetro for nopCommerce 3.80. - genuine UI first upadate to the standard application.

It is a plugin( already available) and theme(s)(due for release on 3 December 2016).

The point of is that it is 100% touch screen compatible, easy to install and easy to customize.

I'm posting this early here in this forum in the hope of receiving some constructive comments on the up-coming MegaMetro Theme.

Hi,

I've been monitoring this thread for a while now as I too have been interested in a POS solution. I can imagine this would be a valuable feature for some retailers who have a bricks and mortar or a face to face customer requirement.

My need for this feature has come about due to a back office product of mine (Checkout Advantage) requiring a POS solution. It was designed around a market place channel architecture (hub and spoke) currently integrating nopCommerce websites and eBay as a market place channel. The nopCommerce integration is still under development. I require this to be completed before it becomes a minimum viable product. That's the background.

In regards to the specifics of what a POS solution will look like for Checkout Advantage here are some possibilities which may or may not be suitable to others:

- Create a nopCommerce POS plugin. Ideally, this will already exist when the time comes. This has the advantage of leveraging the payment system already integrated into the website and overcoming any PCI requirements.

- Create my own nopCommerce POS plugin with the advantages described above including the ability to have full control with how it works for my clients. The obvious disadvantage is the resources I'll have to provide to make it work. I'd much prefer to buy an off the shelf product.

- Create my own POS system which leverages/integrates either nopCommerce installations or my back office system (Checkout Advantage). Again lots of work to produce a solution like this. I would aim to build a single page application solution using Angular 2 hosted either in the users browser (the normal approach) or via other client hosts like Electron or even platform specific hosts like Windows Universal Apps.

Suffice to say any development which I may undertake to build a POS solution is some time off. My integration into NOP needs to be completed first (about 6 months). I'll then reassess my position.

I'd be interested to here what others are doing out there who have similar POS requirements.
