Alright so I determined that NOPs Search box plainly sucks. I have about 15 different shirts on my site that all say Woodland in there names as well as shirt, but if I search for Woodland shirt it finds nothing!?

What I have have determined is that the search box is looking only for exact phrase matches, i.e. typing in woodland shirt cannot find woodland camo shirt.

This is ridiculous as the product clearly has both search terms in its product name. From search quires I have seen come through my site so far more than 90% of them were for items I carry but because the person did not put the term in the exact way that it is in the product title they return zero results.

So what do I need to change in the aspx to turn off exact phrase searching?

I want it to return ANY item that has all the words in the search no matter what order they are in or what words may between them.

You got a 100% free shopping cart engine, and are running your storefront with it.  How about a little respect for the people who put a ton of hours into this project and gave you a free cart.

How about you say, "Thanks for the shopping cart guys, you saved me thousands of dollars.  Can someone please help me tweak my search results, they aren't really meeting my needs."

On some forums you'd get one warning for cross posting and get banned after that.

You got this engine for free.  People put a lot of works to make this happens.  You should show some appreciation and respection for those put a lot of hard work in it.

Well lets see, I am using NOPCommerce, that alone says I fully respect the group more than all other shopping carts. I asked a question which needed an answer, a question which has been asked many times before with no answers. And with all the possibilities there could be out there to remedy this search engine issue all you guys have to say is show some respect?

I love nop and I appreciate the developing teams efforts immensely. Just because I put the word suck instead of "does not function as I want" does not mean any more disrespect than any other phrase. The fact is that perhaps the search engine does what a few others want it too, but for the purposes I need it, it sucks. Plain and simple. I have had hundreds of searches now on my website and not once has a search returned a result for the customer. That's bogus, I am not saying that Nop did a bad job or that the search function sucks for every one, but for a site like mine that sales products that people may search for with more than one word, the search is next to useless.

This has been expressed multiple times in this forum by many many others, about the site search and the forum search, but yet no one has offered a solution to anyone until I "Cross Posted" this question.

Now if it was a rule mentioned somewhere about Cross posting being illegal in these forums than I apologize, I must of missed it.

But my Cross posting and the way I phrased my topic with my "disrespectful" language has resulted in an answer to a question that has plagued nop users for ages. So I am sorry if I hurt someones feelings but the question was resolved because of my "disrespect"

You could insert wildcards in the spaces in @Keywords to allow for keywords searches separated by other words.

In the stored procedure Nop_ProductLoadAllPaged,

after line "SET @Keywords = '%' + rtrim(ltrim(@Keywords)) + '%'", insert the following:

SET @Keywords = REPLACE (@Keywords, ' ', '%')
