We've prepared a roadmap for the next version of nopCommerce (1.60). It's just a draft. Please let us know your thoughts.

- Catalog (categories, products etc) localization
- Individual prices can be specified for individual customer groups
- Allow customers to enter price
- Configurable checkout attributes (such as 'Accept terms' or 'Enter custom message')

Andrei your list of 1.6 version includes many things that are in-demand from all the community members so it looks great

When are you planning to launch the 1.6 community version ? Approximate Idea when ?

Just for suggestion i would like to include few points for 1.6 version:

1) Should include more skins (for store as well as Admin section if possible), More use of java scripts, making menus hover tabs just like you have updated this nopCommerce.com menu tabs with new look

2) company logo in PDF invoice (Controlled from the admin section)

3) Deleting multiple products at one go (as currently we have to delete one by one from admin section)

4) importing/exporting products along with the category mapping and pictures of products

5) Most Important (Integration with Quickbooks)

6) ACL should include feature like, we should be able to give access permissions for few public pages too (or while adding new page in TOPICS), so that admin can define that this page should be accessible to all the users, or specific user having specific role. or something like that.

7) Like nopCommerce team added [Quote] button on each post in the forum, there should be a button something like "Mark As Answer" as forums are 90% used in discussing problems/issues faced by people so this button will help them to find what's the solution of the topic posted rather than searching the whole forum or all the posts to find an answer. And along with this button there should be Message window along with the TOPIC Heading that should say "Resolved" or "Un-Resolved", Once any post in the topic is marked as answer, this message window should change to Resolved

This will help in making forum more user friendly, and help the viewers to know that any topic/issue has been resolved or not if yes they can find the answer easily as the answered post will be MARKED AS ANSWER

I would like to see improvements to the functionality of some items.

The editor in the backend is missing a way for people who do not know html to add an image to a page.  The templates that were offered in v1.40 was awesome! I would like to see these two items come back to the editor.

The birth date calendar in the registration is very cool but does not really fit the application. Maybe a simple drop box would serve the purpose.

The lightbox is also very cool but lacks instruction to the end user. It is simple to add a button  under the thumbnails to let customers know to click the thumbnail. But to make it easier for the customer, maybe the lightbox could have left and right arrows under the picture instead of having the "next" and "previous" buttons that disappear.

I guess if we could get people to use codeplex then we could get a better judgment on which task were most needed/wanted by the community.

Hi,

1. I think that importing data by manufacture will be a good feature (ex: Books thousands per manufacture).

2. A small web service to allow developers to develop some windows or web supplier interfaces based on the web service functionality.

3. Light Integration for data from 1.5 to 1.6 with respect to the multi language for products and categories.

Hi,

The list that Andrei published is very complete in features that we as a company are missing today. Here are our comments on that list.

Catalog (categories, products etc) localization
This is the most important feature in our opinion.

More analytics and reporting
This is the second most important feature. It would be great if users/programmers can extend the system by adding their own reports in i.e. Crystal Reports format. There might come up some issues with Medium Trust there, but this could be a nice way to integrate this really fast.

Backend order creation/editing
We have extended nop with this in a way by creating a Call Center function. I will make sure the code is uploaded to nop team.

QuickBooks intergration
I know QB is well known accounting software is USA and UK but it is not well known in other countries, as far as I know. So for us this is really not important. Maybe we can come up with a set of (documented) APIs or webservices that offers integration wiht accounting software in general.

Batch product editing
Important and a time-saver for all that work with nop. This is a must have.

And some of our wishes:

Configurable Topic pages
The topic pages should have checkboxes to show/not show the category menu, the manufacturer menu, the info menu, etc.
It would be great if you can change the contents of the info menu.

Product Attributes pre-defined
When creating a product attribute, it would be great if you could define the default values for that attribute. Then when you add the attribute to a product variant, you don't have to create the values again. Maybe add  or delete a few but not create it from scratch again.
Imagine a company that sells 100 different t-shirts and all in 15 colors. Now you would have to add the colors as a product attribute and add 100 x 15 values. It would be more efficient to just input this once.

WYSIWYG Editor
The editor is not improved in 1.5. The 1.4 one offered more functions to insert images and select the tokens. Especially uploading a new image or file for download cannot be done now by customers.

Use of email templates
An option whether to use some of the email templates or not would be great. In some cases is does not make sense to send a customer an 'Order Completed' message or the store owner a low stock message.

I'm curious about the other wishes.

How about CMS feature and FAQ (already somebody mentioned).
also question and answer instead of forum( I wonder people like debates in web shopping sites such as amazon. )

Localisation SEO - each localised page being available via a different URL so they all get indexed :)

Count me as another vote for better CMS capability, as well as a means of adding components (a la webparts) via the UI.  I'm having to write a custom "event calendar" control to incorporate into nopCommerce, and I would love to have been able to just "plug n play" instead of writing it from scratch.  Same for a product gallery; being able to present the client's products "in the wild", so to speak, would be very handy.

nopCommerce is an ecommerce application not a cms. i think cms is good enough to accommodate your basic need. i think the most important are 1.Catalog (categories, products etc) localization 2. "Backend order creation/editing"

with regard to QuickBook i agree wit linkXperts. In a 3rd world country like the philippines only a very little few people know about quickbooks.

is there a way to enhance the email notification just like when the system send an email to the customer it will use a [email protected](or [email protected]). while the store admin email will be a dedicate email notification between the system and admin.
