I would like my customers to be able to pay a PO (from another system) as if it were a product

I want a customer who owes us money on a PO to got to our NOPCOMMERCE store, select and item called "Pay PO", enter their PO number and how much they want to pay on it. The pay with credit card. The webstore has no prior knowledge of the PO number or amount.

How can I do this, or at least where would I start?

Thus far, I have used a product that lets the customer enter the amount, but I need them to also enter their PO number (not as a form of payment, but as the item they are paying off)

Is this something you are asking for? PO is already available out of box.
