Critical Performance Issue Update Question

So, we just installed nop3.8 about a week ago in a multistore setup.  We don't have products yet, but really don't want to have to redo the entire installation with the critical performance issue update release.

So, how do you think we do this?  We have no products, and no customizations yet.  We've only setup the multiple stores.  Do we simply replace all the files?  If so, would there need to be a new database?  If we replace all files will everything just work?

Thanks!

If you have you not customized the installation (View files) you should be able to delete the website and re-install with the fixed code. Save the connection strings from the Setting.txt file to use with the new fixed code installation, your database will not be affected.

I'll try that.  Thanks!

One more question though, wouldn't it be easier if we knew which files were changed and could just replace those?

Just asking ... but thanks for the solution to try.

You also need to save your InstalledPlugins.txt file.

You could replace the dlls in the bin directory, (these are the compiled code files from the source)however for peace of mind a clean install is always preferable.

Thanks all.

I replaced all files and then copied over the plugins and settings text files that I had saved off.  Then when I went to the store URL ... everything seemed to be working.  There was no installation screen, just the store homepage.  So, I hope that everything is now good and that this just doesn't seem like it good due to browser caching.

Thanks so much!
