Hi All,

Before you start spending money on SEO, getting a digital marketing agency involved or going down the PPC route - whether it is Bing Ads or Google AdWords - make sure your site is accessible.

Accessibility means standards so it will cover most of the same techniques as SEO does and it will improve usability.  Plus if your site is inaccessible and users are directed to it from your ads chances are they will leave without doing anything (set up your reporting to see this).  And no one likes to waste money or time.

If you thought it was just to do with people with a disability then you may need to think again. It can increase your bottom line, penetrate broader markets and reduce costs.

We can show you and have the stats to back this up.

If you want to know more send me a PM.

Hi,

Well, you was posting about web design, which will help store owners, as much as SEO.

My colleague was thinking of people with disability who have problems with "reading" standard web pages. They need to made special contrast, etc. Is this you was posting of? You was writing about accessibility, improve usability. If you notice, just at the US 57 millions of people have this kind of disability. That`s 19% of US population! If you posting about accessibility, you can not forget about these group. You was writing about standards - for those people was created standard - WCAG.

Hi,

Had to re-read your post, a bit confusing in places.

I thought my original post about accessibility, and how it impacts SEO and digital marketing, was straight forward?

If you want to talk accessibility in the context of how it effects certain social and user groups like people with disability then that's a slightly different topic but happy to go into.
- Contrast - you are talking about low vision and color blind users so there is a minimum threshold the theme contrast styles needs to meet.
- Reading - are you talking about default text sizes? Or best font types for users with learning disabilities and difficulties such as dyslexia?

You stated:
"You can also make your store fully compatible with web accessability with nopCommerce theme fully compatible with WCAG 2.0 standards. "

So I asked fully compatible with WCAG 2.0? Which part of WCAG 2.0? It's a big subject area. Are you saying it meets all the checkpoints across broad? If so, this is something I would like to see.  Bottom line nothing is fully accessible - it's not.  Unless you know all 7.5 billion people on the planet (regardless of ability).  If you want to talk about standards then is this theme WAI-ARIA compliant as well?  What testing tools have you used to verify base accessibility requirements compliance?

I'm an digital accessibility consultant so can help you test your theme for legal compliance if you want.

Hope this helps.
