Migration from 3.8 to 3.9 or 4.0?

Hi nop community!

We are currently using v3.8, and we plan to take advantage of the new features in 4.0, however we have multiple plugins and many come without source code, they work on v3.8 and v3.9

So my question is, Should we move to 3.9 only, keeping all plugins working well, or can we safely upgrade to 4.0?

If only 3.9 is recommended in our case, where are the migration scripts and guide? A quick search on nopCommerce website shows me only migration to 4.0

Upgrade is very easy when no customization in source code.

You can just download upgrade script for database from here

For third party plugins that you are using for same you can contact them and they will provide you updated plugin for latest version.

Hi, doing the same myself. Wanted to jump straight to 4 from 3.8, my only issue was one of the payment plugins the nop team used to do is now release in marketplace, but is not yet ready for v4 nop!

I am getting trouble restoring .bak file to a new database and then applying update script on the new database. I am migrating from 3.8 to 3.9
please help
