site works fine on local server but after uploading to a webserver the postage calculation doesnt work.

when i log into the admin site the measures dont show up. as dont the settings for each product in my range

I am on softsys. and i am using the australia post module.

if i can fix this bug then i am away.

I don't know about Australia Post, but the United States Post Office settings will only work with the domain that you set the account up with. I set up an account with one domain and tried to use it on another and it didn't work until I got another account for that domain...

Maybe this is your problem?
