4.0 and Font Awesome

I would like to use Font Awesome on public facing pages.  Do I need to put the font awesome files inside the default theme in order to reference icons?  I tried add code from several threads, but all I get is gray boxes where icon should be.

What are basic steps to using a font not included with Nop?

Thanks for the theme, one issue I ran into was I loaded it, went into configuration & selected it.
Site pages changed, now when I go to configuration and attempt to select defaultclean again.  It says it saved change, but the RootTheme is still selected.

Short of deleting RootTheme, how do you get back to default clean?

Hi !  i want to change the icon on tab  of nopCommerce icon but I am facing trouble just i can change the logo but cant find the option change the icon and power by name at footer of the nopcommerce .
