is the web platform installer installing v 1.9 yet ( previously, it was only v1.6 ?  )

@EebieBaby
if it's only installing 1.6, I strongly recommend you install  v1.9

Thanks.. There is no issue with installation, my host does not support NOP.

I just wanted to play around with NOP before I have to buy a different host... I dont know how to edit templates and was a zen cart user with a crappy template for a long time.

I dont think I will switch to NOP unless I can see what I can do with a template.... so that's about that. :-)

thank you!

Were you able to "play" with Zen before putting it on a web host?

Have yo played with the fully functional live store at NOP? It allows access to both the store front end, and the administrative back end.

The only way you are going to be able to play with anything (to my knowledge) is to have web services, and likely database services on your local computer.

No, you are right, I wasn't able to play with zen.  But I was able to at least put it onto my hosting site and then play with it.

Nop requires me to buy another host, or change hosts..... so I will just have to keep deciding

You all have been very helpful here and I really appreciate it.  I am impressed with the quick responses and the to the point facts.

Thanks!

The web platform installer basically uses the Microsoft Web App Gallery:

http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/nopcommerce.aspx

As it shows on that site, it is now 1.9. Sometimes theres a delay in them upgrading their software versions, but fortunately they've done NopCommerce. I should note that the installers are all third party and so we neither advertise the installers nor promise their upkeep. We always recommend installing by hand when possible for best experience. We also offer 1 free installation of software per client by hand by our staff.

Thanks for your questions.

I got 1.80 the first time that I installed it with WPI... that was before other people said they got 1.70... I don't know why it would serve different people different versions.

HI All,

I am working with 3.50 version. I am looking to transfer my site to a new server. What are the steps to do that. I used a no source version and already have my sql database backup with me.

Thanks in advance.
