How to add a SSL Shield to homepage

I have installed a SSL certificated on my appliedi.net server and updated my web.config file. I added "NonSharedSSLurl" value="https://www.peterheadrotary.org" I am unsure this if this is correct. I get no errors but see no sicurity padlock at the bottom of my IE page.
I was also provised code to install a shield or badge on the homepage which should display the shield to confirm SSL sicurity is installed.
Can anyone help please.
