Error running query when upgrading CE database from 2.4-2.5

When running the 2.5 upgrade script on my 2.4 .sdf database, I get the following error:

Query Definitions Differ

The following errors were encountered while parsing the contents of the SQL pane:

The Declare SQL construct or statement is not supported.

This thread (https://www.nopcommerce.com/boards/t/12036/20-to-21-ce-upgrade.aspx) mentions that the upgrade script won't work on CE databases but the thread is 9 months old. Is there a solution for this?
