I don't see how to upload imgs here, so uploaded to livesite I'm working on; it's running changeset 33c21ed5d859 from 4/21.

Original png 35.97kb 308x306:

After upload 57.43kb:

Product detail page (not published) it becomes 167.88kb even though size (300x298) is smaller than original image !!!!

Seems his answer was about png, but the jpgs are increasing in size too. What is going to be the solution?  Thank you.

Looks like ImageResizer works this way. You can create a question on stackoverflow with "imageresizer" but I presume the answer will be the same

Ok, I will try to figure out how to switch to custom code, as I can't have pictures increasing in size when they should be optimized on upload.  Maybe nop should look for a different image solution, as having small file sizes for images is so important due to the high # of images in an ecomm site.  Thank you for all the great work you do!

Please test out our previous version (3.20) or copy code from it. It has custom code
