Hmm. I do not like the solution very much. Are you able to make a copy of your db and application next time this happens? I have a script with which you can mask all your customer information. [Do not run it in production]. I would definitely investigate the issue since you do not get any warning in the log file. There must be something.

I guess it is related to stock since it 'randomly' changes over time.
