Few suggestions for future/upcoming versions of nopCommerce:
All the upcoming versions should include the ASP.NET security patch
1) Currently in nopCommerce project, if anyone click on someone's username, it takes the person to that username's profile and in the link it shows something like this: https://www.nopcommerce.com/profile.aspx?userid=20098
It would be great to make the profile page url work on the bases username (like : https://www.nopcommerce.com/profile/nopusername)
As, currently anyone can see the value of CustomerID in the database by this link which is not a very secured way.
2) Advanced Search Option: search product By Manufacturer Part Number
3) Very Important -> Bulk import/export of products along with images and category mapping
4) Adding BBEditor or any kind of editor in blog / news comments so that anyone can post links and format their texts along with smiley emotions
5) In 1.8 version nopCommerce team separated mail settings to E-mail Accounts : admin section > Configuration > Email Accounts
but i think still there is no use of making it a separate option as only one mailbox can be used at 1 time. As, e-mail accounts is a separate option right now, it should work something like this:
Default e-mail for recieving notification: [email protected]
Receiving Registration Approvals: [email protected]
Receive Contact us information: [email protected]
Request a quote : [email protected]
Forums notification: [email protected]
This is exactly how e-mail accounts should work so that store owner can distinguish different matters according to different departments, like tech information should goes to mailbox of technicians , sales e-mails should go to sales department, registration approvals should go to store owner etc
6) Custom search engine that should display search results with blog and forums entries too, currently search engine works only for product and forum search engine only works for forums, what about blog posts ? and company information pages like private policy, terms -conditions, shipping policy, about us pages etc ?
7) Search by username as currently there is no way to search any user with his/her username
8) username availability check in the registration form
9) Major Issue: in nopCommerce project if we are visiting any page and tries to login, the login control takes the member to the homepage which is quite annoying for any website visitor to go back to the same location where he/she was before login.
