I just want to see if you are planning multi-store in the next few months... Before I embark on completely customising v2.4 to be multi-store

No major features will be introduced in nopCommerce 2.50 as our development efforts were focused on some enhancements and fixing bugs. You can find existing work items here (just ensure that "Release" is set to "nopCommerce 2.50").

ETA: the end of February

UPDATE: ETA is the end of March (several new tasks have been added to the roadmap)
UPDATE 2: The official nopCommerce site is scheduled to relocate to a new server on April 1st-April 2nd. That's why the new version will be released on April 3rd.

Thanks Andrei... I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if it takes me 2 or 3 months to multi-store the latest version.

By the time I finish it, you guys won't be releasing a multi-store version. As I'd rather wait if its coming within the next 6 months officially?

I discussed multi-store with the team today =)))

The upcoming nopCommerce 2.50 is already focused on fixing bugs and enhancements (and maybe 2.60 will also be focused on it). I think it'll take about two (maybe, three) months to finish all active tasks (except multi-store). Find all active tasks here. And most probably we'll start working on multi-store support once all these tasks are finished. But at the moment I cannot tell it for sure. I just don't know it right now.

Sounds great :)

I know I have told you multiple times, but I think when you add multi-store into nop it will be a game changer for you.

AM,

Have you taken a look at the shipping functionality introduced in the following fork: https://hg01.codeplex.com/forks/grene/shippingimprovements

I't not a perfect implementation, but I think I did manage to get a lot of legwork done.  In addition to a packing plugin for solving maze, you'll find that it implements Shipping Manifest, Order Tracking, Void Shipment, for both FedEx and UPS.

At the very least it would be great if you guys could incorporate some of the interfaces into the core that would allow for some of this functionality in the recoded FedEx and UPS plugins.

Let me know what you think, and if there is somthing I can do differently to make it easier to encorporate some of this.

I totally agree with the NOP team approach for next versions, there's been a lot of functionality that has been added over the last releases, it's time to tune up the performance and clean up the code to stabilize it and make it more efficient.

In terms of features I think it's time for us (the NOP community) to start building some plug ins, we need to contribute and test the current plug in architecture to see where it needs improvements, NOP commerce needs for us to contribute too.

I'm currently upgrading my 1.X sites to 2.4 and building a new store, when I'm finished upgrading the shipping and playment plug-ins I will contribute them to the project.

I agree... We need more documentation though :)

What will your shipping plug-in provide? I'm interested in dimensional weight calculations and offering only one free shipping option (not for all options) when selecting the product's 'Free shipping' checkbox
