email validation mail not sent

I am using nop 2.5, i want to activate email validation for registration, but after registration the validation mail is not reaching the customer, its not there in the message que, checked in junk folder too, but for no fun, no code change has been done, using no source version of nop 2.5, any help on this would be of great help, www.lanoscomputers.com

this sounds like you havent got your email address setup in the database. go to the error log and see what error you are getting. I initially had this problem but was solved when i got the email address details all setup and set it as the default address.

Email is fine because I get other notification alright, my site is live site with daily about 3 orders, all the email system is working fine, I wanted to enable email validation as some Chinese visitors are writing crap on my forum topics. After I made registered user only can write on forum, now number is reduced but still everyday atleast 2 junk topics are created.

what does it say in the error log?? surely this will give you some idea

I cleared the error log, tried to register, it said email has been sent, but no email, and nothing on error log :(

is your mail server listed as a spammer on certain servers? I have this problem

Nope, I dont do mass mailing, and more over from e-mail configration if I send a test mail to those email address the test mail saying "email working" lands up fine, not sure whats wrong this was happening in 2.5 also, but i dint bother much, but now to avoid spam forum post I need this feature badly.. :(

Very strange thing is happening, only for e-mail validation, activity log show SMTP authication failuere if the e-mail address is out of my domain, for exmple gmail.com, yahoo.com etc. but if i test on the email page i am able to send test mail to any domain, all notifications are recived by cusotmers from other domain, issue is only for e-mail validation mail which fails to deliver for outside my domain name :( please advise, I am going mad due to spaming attack on my forum, I want e-mail validation to be activated..

You have enabled the captcha in your site? If no, you must be.
At least still you solve your smtp server problem.

Yes captacha is already enabled, but these spammers have lot of time these days, they are manually doing it, they get registered as company name Google and write rubbish topics on my forums, not sure how this is smtp issue when test mail works and customers receive all kind of notification etc.
