Bug in tax calculation with associated products attributes

Hi,
when we associate a product as a product attribute, the tax is calculated on the base product, eg:

- a book has 5% vat
- a cd has 19% vat

If I choose to buy the book with the cd, the total price is incorrect! Taxes are calculated with a vat of 5%!!!

Please advise.

Thanks a lot for reporting. I've just created a work item.

By the way, the same can be told about bundles. Currently only tax rate of the parent product is used.

Maybe, we should make it configurable (whether to use only a parent product tax rate or consider child products also)

Thank you very much.
Please notice this is trivial and should be treated with high priority, we are giving our support to test it if needed.
Thanks again.

Hello NopCommerce Team,
I reported this issue almost 3 years ago and got surprised when I noticed that this is still unsolved.
Starting with bundles/kit support, this bug should have been prioritized, because it causes a lot of issues.
Actually we have modified (again) the source code and resolved at least the price calculation, but we need to hide the taxation summary because it is wrong. Given this we can't rely on the invoice feature, and instead we built our etl for importing data into an external accounting system.
The same applies for discounts - also reported - never solved (we sorted it out anyway).

Two products sold together may not have the same taxation or discount or whatever else. This is not an opinion and should be a base feature.
Our customer has lost money due to wrong vat deduction, but the same, I guess, can happen for US sales taxes. What if a product attribute (associated to a product) has a different taxation?

I don't know why this has not solved yet, but makes me think that bug resolution is based on "personal opinions", and this already arose in the past in other threads.

Thanks for reading.
