Hi,

We are running Nop 1.6 and are wondering if checkout attributes were ever implemented and if so, how do we enable them.  We need to be able to put "Special Instructions" in the checkout process.  Better yet, we would be able to name them, or add multiple checkout attributes, such as "For (first name)", "for (last name)", etc.

Let me know if this is doable, or if we need to upgrade, and how we go about implementing this

Thanks a ton!

Ben

Nevermind!  I found it.  It's under /administration/checkoutattributes.aspx

Perfect!  Thanks for adding this functionality!

Hi Andrei,
Did Quickbooks actually been integrated in nopcommerce over the past years?
Don't see any feature regarding this.
Thx for any response!
Best regards Bart

In v1.x there used to be an integration, and now there are plugins for that.

Sorry for the offtopic question, I really have no intent of trolling your conversation, this is not meant in any way to be offending, I am just curious.

I always wanted to know what are the reasons for someone sticking to an old version of any software that has been updated at least a dozen of times. (features added, bugs removed, and all this for free). Sorry, I can't stand it anymore to pretend being wise enough to understand it. :-)

btw. I have to admit, I am the other extreme: I do manually run 'check for updates' regularly on my computer, even on software that I have not been using recently, just to keep my machine tidy.

I have a bunch of different versions running going back over 9 years of being a nopCommerce developer.
One site I am still running version 1.7 because it was heavily customised for one customer and would take a lot of work (maybe months) to reintegrate all their changes and features into the latest version.

That implementation still suits their purposes for a fixed community of over 2500 users. Version 1.7 was the first move to ASP.NET 4.0 and Entity framework 4.0 so it still runs pretty good even today, although it would be nice for the site to be responsive and utilise new technologies.

I am definitely thinking of upgrading their site (if they can find the funds), in fact some of the developments we originally carried out have now appeared in the latest versions so it would be a little easier.

Although as said there would be months of integration of existing code and interfaces then testing as well as data conversion to utilise version 4.

I’m no expert on all the new ways and methods, plugins are getting there but it still seems not so easy to overload a bunch of different code and interfaces without hacking the existing code, whilst at the same time still making it easy to upgrade into the future 😉
