Hello,

I've installed many nopcommerce installations going back to 1.9.  I use Arvixe servers.  Yesterday I installed two separate clean installations of 3.5 on two different arvixe servers.  Both with the Alfresco theme by nop-templates.  One installation works fine as expected.  the other installation is constantly redirecting me to an error page when I try to set anything up, i.e. sliders.  I've double checked all settings and they are the same on both servers.  The log file for the install that is giving errors has several of these entries:  "External component has thrown an exception."  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Hi jnopme,

The following error "External Component has thrown an exception" implies that the error is outside nopCommerce. I had a detailed look at nopCommerce's forums and found several topic related to this issue. It looks like that it depends on the application pool size that arvixe has allocated. So every time this size limit is reached arvixe recycles the application pool and that is why nopCommerce throws this exception. As you know the amount of memory nopCommerce uses may vary from 350MB to 800MB depending on the number of data in it. So would it be possible to double check with Arvixe what is the size of the application pool for this website.
I think that when you have added our plugins the memory nopCommerce uses has reached the limit, which is normal because additional functionality needs additional memory and the application pool had been recycled and that is why you have received the error when adding our plugins.

You can have a look at the following forum threads:

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply.  I spoke to Arvixe, they increased the memory and it's been working great so far.  Thanks

Good to hear that Arvixe tech support resolved the issue!
