Location Awareness

Hi,

Any thoughts on how the site can be made location aware...??

Like when the site is loaded,

1. it may check for user's current location
2. And then all the featured or discounted products are displayed based on his location.
3. May be for example nearest vendor first in order.
4. Same implied on search also. When a user searches, auto-complete shows the nearest vendor's product first.


May be "HTML5 Geolocation" can be used to detect location but then any idea how to integrate it with nopcommerce.?

Step 2: Create different discounts and apply them to different vendor products.

Step 3: Ask users their current geo-location. To do that follow this.

Step 4: Search nearest vendors of that user and their products for that customer. To calculate geo distance follow this.

Also you can try with a different process by using Google Distance Matrix. [Conditions and limitations there]
