I'm trying now a shared hosting at asphostportal.com  - but this is a bad one. The response time range from 800 ms up to 30 seconds for the catalog page with 10 products on the page (caching is enabled).
The site might be down 2 times per day for several minutes. Their shared DB server has peek loads and they reboot it automatically.

So asphostportal.com definitely in black list i'm looking for another hosting.

My question: is it enough to have a shared hosting plan for a small shop with ~50-100 products for let's say 50-100 visitors per day?

Do u have any troubles like mentioned above?

use www.smarterasp.net we have a lot of websites with more than 10 000 products on one website and a lot of our clients who use same hosting. No issues. Alo they have CloudFlare HTTP/2 free.

In the UK, I would recommend a Tagadab VPS @ £29.98 inc. VAT per/month - 2GB RAM/70GB HD (SVS2000)

I am in the UK and I have been using Arvixe. I am looking to move though as I'm experiencing a lot of application restarts on my nop site and the support has really gone down hill lately.

I lost my sites for 2 days over the weekend just gone and got no explanation other than 'Our server admin are doing their best'. It was a server wide issue and the problem didn't even appear on their status page. My repeated attempts to get 'support' to give me some useful information was very frustrating.

I am open to suggestions of good reliable UK based hosting....

Softsys is good.

Do NOT use Arvixe.  They nearly put me out of business.  After testing a few, I moved all of my sites over to Everleap and couldn't be happier.  Their resources are great, their service is great, and they have a lot of tools at your disposal.

I agree.  Avoid Arvixe they have gone downhill in a big way.  And regardless of their copy/paste support support they don't care about your business needs.

I definitely recommend PeoplesHost because the pricing is good, service is excellent and response time to incident is in minutes. We have been with them for over 2 years hosting over 40 sites and are extremely happy.
