Using 3.8

I was thinking about trying to find a solution for the customer to be able to order products and have it reoccurring   by there specified time frame   like once every month or once every 2 weeks and so on ......
Anyone have any thoughts on this ?. Seems like it would be very complicated . I see the recurring product option , but how could you change this to a customer base option and trigger a new order on that time frame.
Anyone have thoughts ,or done something similar or want to quote some work?

Thanks

Hi,

as you mentioned there is a Recurring product type. As you can see in the documentation:
You can define a recurring cycle to any product in order to enable the system to automatically create repetitive orders. In this case, any time when the payment must be done, the system will use the payment details of the initial order for subsequent recurring orders.
Isn't it what you need?

Hi thanks for reply,

I'm looking for the customer to be able to have the option how often they would like to have item reordered . Example if you were selling paper  customer A wants it to auto reorder 1 case  every 3 weeks customer B wants to order 1 case every 2 months  and so on .

Thanks

Hi Chuck-

That isn't possible out of the box, but allowing the customer to choose their subscription/delivery cycle would be a great future enhancement, or plugin idea.

All I can think to suggest would be to create a few different versions of the same product, but set a different repeat order interval for each one.
Then in the product name/description of each product, you'd say this is a "monthly" or "bi-monthly" or "quarterly" or "annually" or whatever.. subscription.

I think you could create it as a grouped product and have each of the possible subscription versions appear under it.
