Base URL language suffix issue

I've somehow ended up in a situation where NopCommerce is appending /en to my URL's, but I do not have 'SEO friendly URLs with multiple languages enabled' ticked. This means that my home page returns a 404 error, and the links to cart etc. do not work.

I don't want multiple languages (only english). Can anyone give me tips on how to resolve this?

Same here..I found that if someone comes into store via www.myplace.com  everything is fine, if they come in myplace.com then they get an extra /en  

myplace.com/en/en

if you delete one of the /en  everything is fine.

I don't remember anyone changing anything on the site but this started about two weeks ago.
