Hi

A customer buys a gift card for 500,- DKK incl. VAT, it´s 400,- ex. VAT.

The mail to receiver says the amount is 400,- that is wrong. He must be able to buy for 500,-

Am I missing a setup somewhere?

nopCommerce 3.80

After several different setups with tax I give up I can´t get it right :-)

I believe there is a bug in nopCommerce here.

In Denmark we pay 25% in tax when a customer buys a 500,- DKK Virtual gift card for 500,- then 100,- is tax.

When the receiver gets the mail he can only buy for 400,- and not 500,-!!

Also if a customer outside EU buys a 500,- Gift card the Amount he pays 400,- !! as he pays no tax.
And the receiver gets 400,-

Please help me out here

The value of a 500,- gift card must always be 500,- regardless of tax and must always be the amount the receiver gets!!!!

Hey Tommy,

Can you just disable tax for the gift card items? That's how Amazon handles it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=468512

They don't charge tax at all when a customer purchases gift cards. They only charge tax when a customer utilizes a gift card to pay for a purchase.

Hi John,

Thank you, you are right about making the gift card with no tax.

I wrongly made the invoice on the gift card purchase which is wrong it must be when the items are bought I make the invoice.

So making the gift card with no tax that would do it.
