I just checked configuration of multistore scenario and found that different stores can be linked to one main shop. My request would be exactly the other way round - customers call the same URL for main shop but because of some condition (e.g. customer's country) user is forwarded to a local store (EMEA, North America, Asia). Customer must not be able to access another store with his credentials.
Is this scenario possible by configuration or do we have to code?
What do we have to do to make this work?

The best is that you have, as in Amazon, a selector of country/store from which the order will be fulfilled. Maybe you will have to pre-select one detecting the country of the visitor, which will require some customization.

But afaik customers - unlike products - are not assigned to a particular store. Therefore customer can change store because credentials are accepted in all stores. After customer has logged in I can forward to a specific store according to his region but he mustn't change to a another store.
