PayPal Direct Plugin - Wrong Card Number

Using the Credit Card 1.35 plugin to allow paying with PayPal Direct at checkout, I get the message:

Wrong Card Number

However, when I charge the same card number through the PayPal Here App, the charge goes through with the same card number, same amount, etc.

I'm on nop 3.8

Wondering if the issue is a PayPal Direct issue, or an issue with the Credit Card 1.35 plugin that allows payment with PayPal Direct.

I checked the System Log and did not see any notices relating to a wrong credit card number...

Does anybody have any thoughts about this, or any way to troubleshoot without charging the customers card over and over again to test?
