Updating an existing entity

I'm new to NopCommerce and eCommerce overall, I do understand the Architecture of NopCommerce but I'm having some difficulties with understanding the documentation of Updating an existing entity, or adding a new property could somebody explain me how to or link me some up-to-date explainations.
