Upgrading nopCommerce from 3.70 to 3.90

Hello;

This question is regarding step wise upgrade process.

We're upgrading from nopCommerce 3.70 to 3.80 and then, from 3.80 to 3.90.

Would it be a good idea to just do these upgrades first (so all the way from 3.70 to 3.90), then worry about the themes, plugins, CSS customizations, etc.?

In other words, to save time:
1. I would upgrade from 3.70 to 3.80
2. Make sure everything is OK
3. Then upgrade from 3.80 to 3.90
4. Make sure everything is OK
5. Then update all the rest such as themes, plugins, and any other customizations.

One other question...

We have already updated nopCommerce from 3.70 to 3.80 using the no source package (nopCommerce_3.80_NoSource.rar).

Were we supposed to update using this package? (nopCommerce_3.80_Source.rar)

Yes. you are right track. But note do it in your local environment (test environment first). ANd then Ready Theme, Plugin etc for 3.90. Then deploy first demo site. And if everything id Ok then deploy live. Never forget to backup 3.70

If you are a developer You should always use source version for the local environment.

We are running the new upgraded site (version 3.80) in our test environment.

We uploaded all files from the No_Source zip package (3.80) to our server...
- I just want to confirm that this is OK if we are only making slight changes to page view files such as:
  - Footer.cshtml
  - OrderSummary.cshtml
  - and so on
