Keep Alive

Hi all, I presume the 'Keep Alive' scheduled task is supposed to keep the application/app pool from falling asleep? If so ours doesn't appear to be working. It is set to 300 seconds, enabled, but each morning trying to hit the site it takes several minutes to load the first time.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Thanks, but I don't believe this is my problem...not getting any errors. It's just that the site falls asleep after a relatively short time of inactivity...then the first user who tries to load it must wait a minute or so...

Do you see many "Application started." messages in the System > Log?


Try hitting your site with the URL that the keepalive uses:

yoursite.com/keepalive/index

The returned page will be blank, but it should keep the app running.  Wait for the default 20 minutes of inactivity before trying it.

If you have access to the IIS log, you can also see if the /keepalive/index page is being referenced every 300 secs.
