Importing data as XML

Is there a way to import data like categories as XML instead of Excel in nopCommerce 4.0?

Here they mention nopCommerce supports importing and exporting products in XML or Excel formats.

I see the option to export as XML or Excel, but Excel is my only import option is Excel.

I've started to go around this by writing some SQL to move products from the old version DB to the new version DB.  This worked fine for categories, but it's a little more hairy for products because the table is much larger.  

We'll see how it goes when I click the "Execute" button.  After backing up, of course :)
