I am trying to setup the Mail Settings for Gmail Account so that whenever an order is placed I can get an email.

Can anyone please help me to specify the following fields.

Store Admin Email: [email protected]
Store Admin Email Display Name: Admin
Host:
Port:
User:
Password:
Enable SSL:
Use default credentials:

Store Admin Email: [email protected]
Store Admin Email Display Name: YOURSTORENAME OR Any name you want
Host:  smtp.gmail.com
Port:  587
User:  [email protected]
Password:   PasswordOfYourGmailAccount
Enable SSL:  Yes [Check Mark]
Use default credentials: DO NO CHECK , LEAVE IT UN-CHECKED

NOW save your settings.

After saving, now try sending a test e-mail, it should work

I followed the same way but got an message "The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required."
What should i do now?

This is not nopCommerce issue, all you need to enable 3rd party application to access your gmail account. Follow this steps to fix this:
1. Login to your gmail account.
2. Visit this page https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha and click on button to allow access.
3. Visit this page https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps and enable access for less secure apps.
4. Login to your nopCommerce admin portal and visit this page http://website_name.com/Admin/EmailAccount/List and click edit  and click to delete the account.
5. Now use following details:
   Email address: [email protected]
E display name: your website name
   Host: smtp.gmail.com
   User: [email protected]
Password: password, remember to click change password button if you are editing any existing account
   SSL: tick to select it
Use default credentials: uncheck, do not select it
6. Click on save button above.
7. Test the mailing by entering your email id and click on send test email button.

Hi,

Make sure that you have enabled 3rd party application to access your gmail account and also enabled access from less secured app in gmail / google app for business. For exact steps, check here.

I'v made setting EXACTLY as recommended -
L.K wrote:

Store Admin Email: [email protected]

Host:  smtp.gmail.com
Port:  587
User:  [email protected]

After sending test mail I'v got an answer - "The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Authentication required"

PS: pass, all data checked many time, there no mistake.

Do you have any idea how to fix the error?

Some minutes later have got mail from google - the attempt to login was blocked. We were prevent to log in in your account from untrusted App.
Okay!
I'v have permitted to log in from untrusted App in my account, but, it is does not make any affect (on my attempt to sent test mail from my site).
Now the answer is "The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at"

Yes I got the same error:

The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Authentication required

SOLUTION: Then I typed the password again and clicked on "Change Password" button and then tried again. It worked!

Funny isn't it!
