When role is set on product, page redirects to Page Not Found

Is there an easy way to redirect a user to a different page other than the default "Page Not Found" when an ACL role is configured on a product.
It is very misleading and I am a bit confused on why the "Page Not Found" page was used as the default for when a role was added to a product instead of a "This page requires you to Login" or something like that.

Can I easily switch the page/topic that the default behavior when a specific role is applied to a product or category page?

We are using Nop 3.7 (we know old version but we modified it way to much to upgrade right now. )

Any pointers on where to look for the customization to point the user to a custom topic page instead of the Page Not Found page?
