NOPCommerce Windows POS System - Any interest?

I've been using an Access database tied to the NOP SQL database as a Windows-based POS system for the last year or so and have been pretty pleased with it at a brick and mortar location. Have a hand scanner tied to it to look up products based upon GTIN, dropdown list to select by SKU (if I don't have a GTIN), etc. A couple of reports etc. and have been thinking about putting it out as a standalone windows system. Guessing maybe in the $300-400 range for a site license. Just an FYI, it doesn't 'sync' with NOP, it actually uses the same database so it does real-time inventory updates.

Anyone have any idea if this would be of value or interest to the community? Would appreciate any comments.

Thanks,
Jim

we have implemented the "POS" module to one of our customer, similar to yours but we do all things within the admin pages, let me know if we can cooperate.

Think that is a great way of doing it, and we did give it a lot of thought. The reason we didn't though is we have a lot of special requirements that were hard to fit into it, plus we didn't want the user to have admin access. Many of the items we sell have a website price and have a different price in store. We also have hazardous material that the buy button is disabled with so web site user can't buy it, but we want to sell only in the store. The other thing is we do a lot of 'one off' special orders for items we want to track, but not list on the website, this happens several times a day and is hard to work around.

Since reporting is a big deal too, we will give this a lot of thought and see if we want to move forward with this project or not.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim, in fact these features all can be implemented with Web. we also handled a similar case for a shop owner who wanted to show wholesale price for walk-in customers, these all integrated into one web system.
regarding the reporting, we have implemented a daily summary report plugin which can show sales from different angles like SKU, attributes, Manufacturer, payment method etc, if you are interested for cooperation, please PM me.
