Question about PayPal configuration

In Configure - PayPal Standard does the entry for Business Email need to the email address that is associated with the sellers PayPal account or can it be any email address at the sellers company?

I dont actually know but Id assume it is an email you have registered with paypal
One way is to give it a try and see what happens
Try an email that is not registered
Try an email that is registered

It pays to experiment :-)


If you use an email that is not registered with your seller's PayPal account the transaction appears to goes through, but there is no automatic redirect back to the site after the payment is completed (there is a button that gets you back). Also on the buyer's side it shows the transaction as not being accepted, with an option to cancel.

So, I guess my answer is, yes, you do need to use an email that is setup with the seller's PayPal account.

I did all this with my sandbox accounts. I assume the behavior would be the same in production.
