Hello there,

I am from Turkey and recently working on my e-commerce site; https://ofisking.com.

In our product range, we offer print cartridges for both inkjet and laser printers.  However, they are all sold in USD instead of Turkish Lira.  Other than these cartridges, all the remaining products at our site are bought and sold in Turkish Lira.

As the exchange rate varies daily, what I want to do is I would like to add the cartridges with their USD prices.  And when clients browse the site and make purchases, the prices will be displayed in Turkish Lira (automatically converted from USD through exchange rates).

However, although I activate the USD currency, I cannot select USD while adding a new product.  It only displays the default currency.

Could anybody help me out about this issue ? Any other practical solution would also be welcome.

PS: In our range, there are about 1,400 products under this category.

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

Having multiple primary currencies in a store is meaningless, and you have to choose between currencies and pick one of them as a primary store currency. But, as you know, you can have multiple currencies (not primary) with different exchange rates and assign them to languages. For your problem about daily changes in exchange rates, you should develop a task which will be responsible for updating exchange rates continuously or do this manually.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.  I think there is a misunderstanding.  I am not looking for setting multiple currencies as primary or default.  Let me explain below;

1. Our site uses TL (Turkish Lira) as primary and default currency.

2. For one certain category, we need to submit product prices in USD.  Because, we also buy them in USD and sell them in USD.  Even in physical stores, when clients want to purchase these items, we convert the USD prices to TL with the actual exchange rates.

3. So, what I want to do is to add or register some products to Nopcommerce in USD.  However, because the default or primary currency is TL, the system will display and enable purchases in TL by converting USD to TL with the actual exchange rates.  I have already enables automatic updates for exchange rates.

4. At this point, the system does not allow me to add the price in USD.  It only allows me to add the price in TL.

5. Due to daily and unpredictable variations in the exchange rates, unfortunately, we have no chance to add these products in a currency rather than USD.

So, how can we make the system allow us to enter the price in a different currency ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

As I said before, at this moment this is not available out of the box. But, there is a work item here for this feature.

I hope this will help.
