nopCommerce transformed into a forum & blogging website...

I am a programmer/designer.

I always wanted to start a website to provide developers/programmers with a place to meet and exchange ideas. I knew that starting a forum based website is the best way to accomplish my goal.

I tested YAF and php based forum project and really like the way they work.

But at the same time, I LOVE NopCommerce. I love nopCommerce so much that today whatever website i work on, i start thinking from nopCommerce.

So i thought i like other forum software project but at the same time i love nopCommerce very much. So i though i should customize nopCommerce to make it a forum based website and it will be a challenge for me.

So, i took this challenge and I've been working on my website since a long time. Just for designing i took many weeks to give my website a great look. So whatever you will see on my website is designed by me. I myself developed all the feature of a forum based website and customized nopCommerce in order to work like a forum software.

Today i am very happy to launch my website: www.strivingprogrammers.com

Andrei, i would like to thank you. YOU ARE THE BEST. Everyday i see your posts on the this forum, you answer each and every question on the forum whether it is a small n simple question or a complicated question. You help all of us in so many ways.

I am love nopCommerce so much that in future if i will plan to start my personal website also i might use nopCommerce and transform it in a personal website. nopCommerce team has developed such a great application and the code is written is such a way that it can be customized in any way. I love nopCommerce

I learnt a lot from online programming forums and whatever i know i want to share that knowledge with everyone through my online forum.

hey mike, nice bit of work, it looks good - really nice to see the way you've used nopcommerce as a starting point for a different kind of site.

I know I've said it before, but nopcommerce is so much more than just e-commerce software, the team have put together an astonishing piece of work which can be used for so many different web projects

Andrei, do you remember i asked you that in future are we going to get a feature in nopCommerce for marking forum posts "Mark as Answered" : http://nopcommerce.codeplex.com/workitem/7781?ProjectName=nopcommerce

I believe this "Mark as Answer" is very important functionality for any forum section even here also we need it, if a new member is visiting forums n looking for solution and doesn't know much about what's going on in the discussion , then he/she will get lost if topic is going on for many pages , and will never get the exact solution. By marking posts " Marked as answer", any member can find answer very easily and the admin of the forum can know how many topics are resolved and unresolved.

In future i will also work on adding this "Mark as Answeres" - Topic Resolved feature in forum section, if i am able to accomplish this before nopCommerce team adds this feature in nopCommerce project, i will definitely post my solution as a contribution for the community.

i am working on nopcommerce theme(s) and at the same time i am waiting for 1.8 version so that the theme(s) i am working on will be compatible with 1.8 version.
