Hi there,
We have a mini product cart application where we allow users to select products and create cart in our system. We are in the process of replacing this mini system we have with nop commerce but I have one question as I don't currently see in the nop commerce admin portal. Currently, we allow users to enter some metadata about a product - for example any imprints that the user may want to add on the product. For a dealer, it could be their dealership name which we would collect per product item which I don't think I see in nop commerce (there could be and may be called something else). Is this something I could do in nop or something I could have missed? We would have few number of metadata fields that we could potentially make them available to certain products where the customer could provide their data. Please advise!

You can add a to field to a product that allows the customer to enter some text, select a date, select options using a checkbox, etc See http://docs.nopcommerce.com/display/en/Product+attributes

Do you mean Manufacturers who make products or Vendors who sell their own product range within their own store or sell products along with other vendors in a marketplace ? Thank you so much for your response. Actually, what i was looking for was exactly where you pointed out i.e. in the Product Attributes section. I was looking for adding a different attributes for a product where you could have different control types i.e. RadioButton, TextBox, CheckBox and so forth. The ability to add a textbox attribute for a product and have the data collected from the user is what I was looking for and nopcommerce already takes care of that.
