That could be the problem; this is a 64 bit computer.
Windows 7 installs all the 32 bit applications in : C:\Program Files (x86)\.

The program is installed in : C:\Program Files (x86)\NopAdmin\WebSiteImages

I looked in C:\Program Files\, and there is no NopAdmin\WebSiteImages folder.
Is there any work-around for this?
thanks

Mike, In an older version of NopAdmin 1.90 there was a bug that put all the images in c:\program files\nopadmin\websiteimages.  I wanted to make sure you did not have that version and it appears you don't - you have the most recent version.    Let me try recreating the issue on my end and I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks for your patience, we'll get this!  :-)

Hi Mike:

I spent a lot of time in the NopAdmin debugger and found that I am not able to reproduce this error…..all the images were created in the NopAdmin installation/websiteimages folder as  expected.   Can we please set up a time to do a desktop sharing session?  I like to use a free remote desktop program (TeamViewer)  that is fast and easy to use.  Please skype me at nopadmin when you get some time so I can take a look at your specific environment.

Another  thing to check - please assign 'Everyone' FULL permissions to the NopAdmin installation/websiteimages folder...

Another thing to check....do you have UAC (User Account Control) turned on?  That could be preventing images from being saved as well.   If you do please turn UAC off and try it again.    Here are instructions on how to turn off UAC:  http://www.nopadmin.com/boards/t/6/cant-drag-and-drop-images.aspx

Thanks
Shawn

If its not open source, it should not be allowed to be even yalked about here. Like one of the users above comments, why dive into an open source shopping cart if i will have to spend else where money for an interface for product manipulation!

Maybe Nopcommerce can reproduce something like nopadmin as open source and distribute it here in the future.

Thank you

First of all, the main reason that a lot of people use Nopcommerce is not because it is open source and free - is it because Nopcommerce is a great application with the support of a great community behind it. Being free just happens to be a bonus.

Also, if you notice this topic is in the forum section titled "COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENTS". This section is meant for commercial (paid for) products.

Lastly, a lot of people find value in products that help them get the job done, even if they have to put forth some money to do so. If they didn't, these products wouldn't exist. By your own admission you seem to value this type of thing as well, the only issue that you seem to have is that you can't get it for free. If that is the case, then I suggest that you avoid reading this section of the forums.

This product is going to save me hours and hours and hours of time.

I have a .xls file that has 2000 products and if I had to manually enter the Images,
Categories, and Manufacturers it would take days and days.

This product is not expensive and is worth every penny and I thank the people for creating it.

Can this tool be used to copy products from Store A to Store B? Like if I wanted to copy all products by a certain manufacturer from Store A into Store B?

Also, do I need to buy the version that matches the version of nopCommerce that I'm running? So nopAdmin 1.9 is for nopCommerce 1.9?

Thanks,

Hi, thanks for your questions.    You didn't specify if the product data in Store A was using nopCommerce, and if so, which version....so I can only speak to what steps you would take if Store A was nopCommerce.  If not, you would need to somehow get your Store A data into Excel and format the spreadsheet to match the format the NopAdmin import tool requires.   There is a sample Excel  import sheet in all NopAdmin products so you can see the structure that is needed to import your data.

NopAdmin versions 1.80 and up have the ability to export all your product data as well as the category and manufacturer maps into Excel in the same format that the Import tool in NopAdmin uses in the same version.    So, if  Store A was a nopC 1.90 format and Store B is also a nopC 1.90 format you could export your data from A and turn around and upload it into Store B.  The only thing that does not come across however are images - you would need to remap those in the Store B spreadsheet - but all your data and category and manufacturer maps would be there.

If Store A was 1.90 and Store B was 2.10 (for example)  you could also export out of Store A - you may need to add a couple of columns in the Excel file for importing into Store B because of differing database layouts - then do the import.

Bottom line is, NopAdmin can import your product data, images, category maps and manufacturer maps directly from Excel...how you get it into that format is your choice.  If your existing store is nopCommerce 1.80 or above, just export your data using NopAdmin, change the database config to point to Store B, and import it back in - provided Store B is the same version as store A.

Regarding your second question, yes...NopAdmin intentionally follows the same version formats as nopCommerce.  However, NopAdmin versions are not backwards compatible (some folks get confused by this) because of the differing nopCommerce database schemas from version to version.  So, NopAdmin 1.90 can only be used with nopC 1.90, NopAdmin 2.00 with nopC 2.00, and so on.  NopAdmin 2.10 will not work with nopC 2.00 or 1.90, etc.

Hope this helps - if you have more questions about your specific requirements please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or skype id nopadmin.   We offer free and comprehensive support to every NopAdmin user - whether you are a paid,  trial, or free version user.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks that helps a lot.

So just to confirm, yes, I would have two or more stores, each running the same version of nopCommerce. I would need to copy a subset of products from Store A to Store B. When I do that it would be great to bring along all related data: manufacturers, categories, related products, cross-sells, specs, photos. Sounds like a good deal of that will come over with nopAdmin.

What about licensing? I saw on the website that you have to buy a license for each domain that you point to? In my case, I just need to use nopAdmin when setting up a store for the first time, to load it from a source store. So I would use it with the source store all the time (that's where I would license it to), but when setting up a new store (target), I would want to do a one-time export from source to target of a subset of the data. Does that mean I need to buy a $100 license every time I do this? Or will the license on the core domain allow me to do this type of activity.

Thanks!!!

Hi E. Jackson -

Not to talk you out of using NopAdmin or anything :-)  but in my opinion if you want to bring over all that data, and because the nopC versions are the same it may be easiest to just get a backup of the database in store A and restore it into Store B, then remove/deactivate the products and elements you don't need.  NopAdmin import does not do related products and you would need to remap your images.  Would just doing a backup/restore work for you?     just a suggestion.

Regarding licensing, we'll work with you.  It doesn't make sense for you to purchase multiple copies for this task.  All versions allow a test/dev license as well as a production license anyway.  Starting with NopAdmin 2.00 the licensing is built right into a configuration screen.  If using NopAdmin 1.90 or below, we would just generate 2 license files for you and you could switch between them depending on the store you are maintaining.

Hope this helps!

Shawn
