Multi-store setup for NOP 4.0 on A2hosting?

I'm trying to get this working, no luck so far, I barely know what I'm doing.

I have a store at spa.maitriworks.org (a sub-domain) that works fine.  I want to add two more sub-domains that have stores in them.

1. zeropointe.maitriworks.org
2. nublu.maitriworks.org

I created these sub-domains in cpanel, and tried to follow the multi-store installation instructions, but have issues.

To the main DNS (at my main domain (maitriworks.org), I tried to add CNAME records forwarding these sub-domains to the original store sub-domain

e.g.
zeropointe.maitriworks.org CNAME spa.maitriworks.org

I get an error saying that this would conflict with the A record for zeropointe sub-domain (which is currently zeropointe.maitriworks.org A 'mydomain's IP'

so I removed that, and then it allowed the CNAME.

I added the two sub-domains to the NOP configuration > stores

e.g. store name  ZeroPointe
     store url   https://zeropointe.maitriworks.org/
     SSL enabled yes
     HOST settings  zeropointe.maitriworks.org,www.zeropointe.maitriworks.org

So now I have two sub-domains created in plesk, with SSL certificates and SSL enabled just as in the working store.  I also have the two stores entered in NOP configuration as shown in the example above for zeropointe.

I have added two CNAME records in my main domain's DNS setting, which should be forwarding to the working store (spa.maitriworks.org), but had to remove the two A records for those sub-domains or plesk would throw an error.

Instructions also mention setting up a domain alias.  I only see one place to do that, on the main domain's plesk panel, and I don't know how to do it.

The satores don't function at all as it is setup now.  when I browse to their addresses, I get the usual 'more content is coming' page that is put in there by default, but when I try to add anything to the store in NOP, it doesn't show up on the other two stores......

any help out there?
