Evening!

Would like to choose NOP Commerce as out the box it is comprehensive and the plug ins easy to manage as and when I need them.

I have only one product to sell - but I work with 5 other companies that have about 50 products they want me to promote on an affiliate basis.

Is there a way that i can add a product as a product - but replace the buy now destination for an affiliate link that goes through to their website (all fully tyracked to me) for fulfilment.

The idea is that as I get more successful, I can then start to fulfil more of the products myself and be more traditionally ecommerce.

Anyone help?

Thanks

Add your affiliate friendly name or id parameter like below with product url.

www.yourpartnerssite.com/product-sename?affiliateid={your affiliate id}
or
www.yourpartnerssite.com/product-sename?affiliate={your affiliate friendly name}

I don't think you want to use Affiliate.  You want to use Vendor.
Products can have a vendor.
There are message templates that will notify a vendor when any order is paid (or placed):

OrderPaid.VendorNotification
OrderPlaced.VendorNotification

Sorry, I missed the "but replace the buy now destination for an affiliate link that goes through to their website (all fully tyracked to me) for fulfilment."

That needs customization. Seems like you want to be an affiliate of their site.    But do you really want to have your customer leave your site and go to another site.  Consider vendor/ drop shipping instead as per above

Thanks for replies...

Ok, we don't want to be an affiliate, but as we only have one product of our own, we have a comparison site - so need the additional products to make it happen.

Setting up the product gives us control over it's attributes, copy trelating to the product and of course iages. We DO NOT want to take payments for the product at this stage - as whilst the Vendor route seems a great option for dropshipping, the companies we have agreed to work with cannot work this way at the moment.

Being able to swap the buy button for an "affiliate link out to the company site for that product" is the way we want to go for the time being.

So thanks New York, where you say :

"That needs customization. Seems like you want to be an affiliate of their site.    But do you really want to have your customer leave your site and go to another site.  Consider vendor/ drop shipping instead as per above "

Unfortunately - yes we will be affiliate to prove the model works then we are looking at buying in 1000 units per time and doing the shippiung ourselves - but I want to check the model works before investing that much cash in it.

Anyone recommend a way to achieve this customisation i.e. know anyone and how much it would cost? I know it's an plug in with Shopify.com and 1-2 hours work in woo - but for nop?

Cheers

RE:  " swap the buy button for an "affiliate link out to the company site for that product"

Although it would not appear exactly in the buy button position, you can in the admin product details just:
- "Disable buy button"
- put the affiliate link in the Short Description.

NY - yep thought of that - I can add css styled button myself and centre align etc. I guess... much better than having to then play with the software...

Thanks.
