Campaign/Newsletter Images not displaying on GMail?

When I send out my campaigns/newsletters, my gmail subscribers cannot see the images in the campaign?

I have tried sending them to my own gmail address with a similar experience.

Can anyone give me guidance on this?

Mail servers like Gmail, yahoo, hotmail and others always block images from displaying as a security measure.

If the images in your email templates are embedded correctly, you should not worry about anything as this is something from the receiver's mailbox.

This is not considered as an issue, the receiver get an option in the email header "Display images" and once they click on it, they will see the images. This is something that you do not have any control over.

Also - This is the reason majority of email templates these days include link to "View the email in browser" so that if images are being blocked the receiver can view the email on browser. You should include a link of your email too in your template.

I am running into a similar problem. When sending out a newsletter, I noticed the images were not showing up. I checked and noticed this as the url:

No matter if I try to edit the link via the link button or view source code in the rich textbox, it will only put the local path in the email and not the full path. Which is weird because all my message templates work just fine.

Another issue I have found while trying to figure out this problem, the unsubscribe token is not working.

I went back and assumed since I was sending a test, this is what was causing the problems. I disabled everyone subscribed except my wife's email address (she has a registered account on the site). I sent the mass email and found these issues still arise.

First off, anyone who receives newsletter has no no way to unsubscribe via the token. The token is looking for a blank image on the mail server, which the url is like: http://mystore.com/squirrelmail/images/blank.png

Next, what I believe to be an important part to a campaign is the ability to use images. The only way I can get images to work in a campaign was to upload an image to an external source and link to it. If I try to use an imaged stored locally, it will not appear in mass email sent. I have tried to use the full path like: http://www.mystore.com/Content/Images/uploaded/logo.gif but it reverts it to a local path like: /Content/Images/uploaded/logo.gif.

I see the same behavior in message templates. I am assuming the coding dealing with message templates amends the link from local to full path. So it seems to me either there is a little bit of code missing, a typo or something simple that is causing the issues. I was going to test on the demo site but it wouldn't allow me to configure my email server. Can you take a peek at this Andrei?

iTS NOT GMAIL OR ANY OTHER MAIL BLOCKING.

the new edit box is striping out the full URL, only finding the relative path /content/ect/ect. it's also stripping out any JS "open windows" too

SO WHILE IMAGES SHOW ON PAGES THEY DO NOT IN EMAILS. ( NOT JUST WEB BASED MAIL)
IS THIS BY DESIGN FOR VENDOR CONTROL??

Adding  a URL gets removed when saved , it can be added directly to the DATABASE.

if I link to another directory with an uploaded image IE , www.mystore.com/images/my.jpg that works.

This issue was introduced in version 3.30 and already was fixed in the upcoming version 3.40. Please have a look at the new \Nop.Web\Administration\Views\Shared\EditorTemplates\RichEditor.cshtml file
