How to stop displaying currency abbreviation in price e.g. (GBP, USD etc.)

I've gone through all the Language settings and advanced settings last night and I inadvertently enabled a setting that displays the currency string in abbreviation form that is used for a product price. Prices now show up in this type of format: £16.99 (GBP). Does anyone know off the top of their head what setting I need to change to disable it again?

In All Settings, filter the name column for   currencysettings.displaycurrencylabel
Set it to False

What if we have ONE currency EURO for TWO languages?

We need currency to show on the site as follow:
For English language it must show "123 EUR"
For German language it must show "123 €"
How to do this?
