syllabuy.co - digital lesson plans

A couple days ago, we just launched our second NopCommerce implementation, syllabuy.co.  Syllabuy is an online marketplace for teachers to buy and sell digital lesson plans and other teaching materials.

With the help of Andrei and his team, we started with version 3.3 and added features, such as:

-Extended vendors (i.e. sellers) - allowing them to upload their lesson plans through a friendlier interface that matches the site's look and feel

-Commissions paid to vendors based on if they paid for a membership or not

-Custom promotions for vendors, allow time-sensitive commission rates and fees to be applied

-Dynamic "lists" for the homepage, where the staff can select what information is shown on the homepage (i.e. featured products, vendors, top categories, best sellers, etc.)

-All digital downloads, with product photos automatically generated for the vendor for certain file types

-Vendor following and activity notifications

-Payment integration with our sister site,  fundingfactory.com, where users earn rewards points by recycling.

Great piece of work. Suggestion: access to the list of vendors and probably promotion and application to be a vendor.

Thanks for the feedback.  Actually once you register, you are taken to a page where you can opt-in to become a vendor automatically.  Behind the scenes, it just puts them in that role (and our theme hides the Nop admin interface).  From there, they can customize their store with other fields.

We have plans to later offer pay for featured positions, but since we're just starting out, we have a core set of vendors we feature currently.  

We also updated the search to allow searching by vendor names.

We did run into an issue with one of them not working with our customizations (some of the controllers in Nop.Web were modified), but that was expected and we ended up not needing to use that particular one.
