Hi

I am looking for anyone who has developed a nopCommerce POS type solution, or perhaps used nopCommerce as a POS solution.  I need it to be used in a store where the store clerk will be using it to ring up products for clients.  Perhaps it is a specialised theme on the nopCommerce engine to make it look like a POS system which keeps the shopping cart on the screen as the store clerk is ringing up the items.

Any thoughts?

We are also looking for the same functionality. It must work on touch screens and be a separate facility than the online store. In other words, the POS system should function independently from the online store but run under the same instance of nopCommerce and be able to provide POS functionality and tracking for multiple storefronts.

Thanks. Are you going to make it an open source plugin? Ideally, if it can be a plugin and not modify nopCommerce's core codebase, that would be great. Below are our requirements:

1) Plugin
2) Support for multiple storefronts. Each storefront can have its own configuration of POS buttons.
3) Each storefront can have one or more POS Administrator roles
4) Storefront POS Administrators can add POS Cashier users to their store. POS Cashier's can log in and only use the POS front end.  Each order is audited so the administrator can see which cashier took the order.
5) Simple UI with large buttons in the wide left panel and totals in the narrow right panel (works with touch screens)
6) Completely Web Based
7) Ability to operate with POS devices (e.g. open/close cash register and print receipts)
8) Keep track of order history

Inkblot, were you thinking of leveraging nopCommerce's existing product table? If so then the POS Products will need to be associated with a POS storefront somehow.

I would definitely recommend ProPeers for development. They recently developed our business pages which we will be receiving the deliverable soon. We will need your help again Rajeev after we settle with the business pages.

We have an existing Windows touch screen MS SQL ePOS/ERP retail solution and have developed an integration add-on that connects with nopCommerce with the following functionality:

1. Product database resides on our ERP solution and updates nopCommerce
2. Customer database resides on our ERP and updates nopCommerce : new customers records downloaded
2. Retailer decides what products will retail in the nopCommerce online store
3. Support size/colour attributes supported
4. Stock on hand in bricks and mortar store are synced with nopCommerce
5. New order on nopCommerce creates a new order on ePOS and displayed in the store ePOS
6. ePOS order is then converted to sale transaction when  stock is picked in store

If anyone has any questions please ask.

First off I salute all developers of NopCommerce for doing an excellent job making what NopCommerce is today and the NopCommerce Team for managing all resources of the development. I am not a developer but an end user. One thing I would like all to keep in mind is the security of the customers and the business. If the POS is WEB based, I wouldn't want my cashier clerk to log on remotely with a personal computer and make purchase transactions where another person can obtain a printed receipt and leave from the store with items. POS must be internal use only via intranet or an application installed on a machine.  Another security measure would be checkpoints like clerk ID, Tracking, and date where a security guard can verify and release customers exiting. Every other implementation to POS mentioned here is fantastic. Job Well Done, Gratefully Thanks to you all

A point of Sale plugin with proper security, and all features mentioned here will be exciting to see developed I’m really counting on you guys for this phase of NopCommerce.
