Error recieved when trying to configure any plugin

Just recently I cannot edit the configuration of any plugin or payment method. I have made no changes to my nopCommerce implementation. I am running version 2.7 on Arvixe. Thank you for any help you may provide!

Did you try restart application?

I tried that and now the whole site has crashed all I see is

Can't do anything now

OK, so now the site seems to be working but intermittently I receive this strange error:

So, you are not able to access admin section. Stil  I believe something stuck with iis application pool. Try stop and start application pool.

I have restarted the application pool and web site a few times. It does help but I still get these errors about 40% of the time depending on which page I am on. I wonder if it could be a problem with the hosting server?

Did you ever figure out where the problem was/get it resolved?  I'm trying to run v3.5 on Arvixe and am running into exactly the same problem...

I just had a similar problem.   The root cause was the deployment files did not include global.asax.  The properties of global.asax were set incorrectly (copy to output directory=should be always)

Thank you very much for the info.  

I ended up having to pull the plug on nopCommerce in order to get something working immediately (I ended up going with a wordpress based solution).  i'd still like to explore nopCommerce in the future as the wordpress solution does leave a lot to be desired for our purposes, so I'm sure this will come in very handy once we have time to revisit this :)
