Install screen shows after moving hosting

Hi,

Ive moved hosting provider. Ive published the existing site to the new provider and rebuilt the database. but every time I navigate to the site I get the install screen. This errors when I try to use it with multiple errors.

Ive updated the settings.txt file with the new connection string.

How can I stop the install screen?

You need to "restart application" after putting in Settings.txt and InstalledPlugins.txt.

Thanks both those are already in there, how do I restart the application?

At the bottom left of the installation screen, there's something that read "restart installation". Click that link, and it should auto-detect whether installation is still needed. :)

All that does is reload the install screen?

If it didn't work, then do this 2 things:

1) Go to your root, look for web.config, make it web.config-x
2) Reload your page, it shall break now
3) Rename web.config-x back to web.config

Doing this essentially makes the app restart. :)

It could be a permissions problem.  Use the host control panel / file manager and check permissions as per install docs
